It's important to talk to God and ask Him what we should do when making decisions.  The Old Testament has great examples of people doing that.

A record in I Kings shows the importance of going to God and talking to Him yourself rather than blindly following what a man says.

God wants us to have a life of peace rather than a life of tension, stress, and anxiety.  His Word shows us how to be at peace.

At the time II Timothy was written, circumstances were bleak.  Timothy was to stand by holding onto God's Word, continuing to feed on it and speak it.

The Scriptures show that humility and meekness are very important to God.  On the other hand, pride leads to destruction.

Meekness is very important to God.  God's Word reveals that there are great benefits that come to people who are meek.  Moses was a great example of that.

God knows that we are dust and He has compassion on us.  Even when we get ourselves in trouble because of our own wrongdoing, when we cry out to God, He will rescue us.

By reading about the history of God's dealings with the Israelites, we can learn wonderful things about God's great grace and mercy.  Psalm 78 & Nehemiah 9.

Paul was upset with the idolatry he saw at Athens, so he went out there and preached the gospel concerning Jesus Christ.  Great example for us to follow!

Because God's lovingkindness is excellent, we can put our trust under the shadow of His wings.  We can be abundantly satisfied and drink from the river of His pleasures.  With God is life and light.
